My 11 y.o. son really wants to catch a snake head? Where is our best chance of this on the Eastern Shore. We are in Wye Mills, the closer the better but we will drive for the best opportunity. I have heard Blackwater refuge. From boat or shoreline? We have a 16' skiff we can take. Are there enough of them on the Eastern Shore for an 11 y.o. to have a good chance at one or are we better off driving across the bridge and going to Mattawoman creek? Would prefer to stay on the Eastern shore if there is a good chance of catching one over here. Thanks.

Blackwater is full of them. Boat works better but you could likely catch them right around the shore as that's where they seem to be in numbers anyhow.

Right off the MD DNR site for invasive species. Zoom in to the Eastern shore areas where snakeheads have been reported caught...
