Spent the day on the Avon Pier today. It was a gorgeous day except the wind blowing a little bit on the hard side. There were some spurts of good bites, but mostly just small mullet was to be had. A few small flounder, a couple of skates, one blow toad, one monkfish and a small sand shark were also reeled in. Shrimp seemed to be the only thing that was having any success at all. All in all a beautiful day to be on the pier but not very productive. The water temp was still a little cool with it registering 62 degrees. Maybe in a few more weeks when its warmed up a few degrees they'll be hitting better. The most excitement though came when a young lady in the surf seemed to have trouble with her top staying put, made my brother miss a decent bite. Not enough fish caught, but still a great day to have some line in the water. :fishing:
