You will be right beside Fort Macon Jetty. We fish there every year when we stay there. Don't write off the area right in front of the condos either. We always catch a few blues and whiting there while hanging on the beach and have even gotten into a few schools of spanish. We have also landed a few decent sized blacktips straight out in front of the condo. Do keep a close eye on your stuff though because my Kayak was stolen while we were staying there last year.
Hey narfpoit...I clicked on your first pic and was sent to another site where I was hit with one of those banners that was telling me I needed such and such for my computer and didn't want to take no for an answer. You might want to place your pics somewhere else. At the very least its anoying as hell.
Hey mick i have been vacationing at atlantic beach for 8 years now. Great place to fish. Double bottom rig with sand fleas or FRESH shrimp right past the breakers will catch you croakers whiting and maybe a pompano if you are lucky. Also, i had a lot of luck last year with bloodworm fishbites. Also oceanana pier is nice. Take a full day trip on captain stacy's headboat for some deep sea action. I always come back with a cooler full. Anyways, good luck and tight lines.
We will be down the last week of July. The answers I get here will determine where we will stay because it is strictly a shark fishing trip. I am going to buy one rod/rell combo to bring for the trip. I am on Pure Fishing's Pro Staff so I'll have to use a Penn Reel and am open to either spinning...
