Hi Floks,
My Wife, Mother and I just got back from a week at Atlantic Beach! The weather was really good and we had a great time. I just have to take what the beach gives me because of my Mothers health issues. That’s okay and I caught fish. I was on a good spot at the place we stayed at with a big sand bar and a large hole at high tide but overall it was was slow except for Thursday on the rising tide. I guess that why it’s fishing not catching? Just looking at the beach I thought I would do better. I brought home a little over 3lbs of cleaned fish including croakers, whiting, spots and one grey trout. No black or red drum which stunk because that’s what I’m after. The croakers and whiting I kept were nice in the 12” range. The spots were spots and the grey trout was 14.5”. I also caught one flounder and an 10” grey trout which were both thrown back. Luckily both were hooked in the lip with circle hooks for clean releases. Also several blues a puffer, some pig fish, pin fish, crabs and a few I didn’t even look at hard. It’s amazing how tiny salt water fish can eat a 2/0 hook. No sharks which was nice.
I’ll add a few pictures.
