Looks like the shaft is black anodized aluminum, which makes it more corrosion resistant, so I think it would be fine for something that you could rinse off with fresh water after each use.

Is this two piece paddle for saltwater? I'm hoping the pole metal part resists corrosion.
I bought it at a Thrift Store recently for $5 bucks. I have plans for a project with it.
