I may be heading out to PLO tomorrow and I was wondering if the croakers where in. And has anybody fished the other side of causeway (Lake Conoy) last year i caught trout, spot, and croaker their so if you have fished it; whats hiting? And whats biting on the pier.

I kayak fish the area and have had good luck on the outgoing tides fishing rip rap with XRap lures and swim shad soft plastics- lots of school rockfish- a few nicer fish mixed in- lots of white perch- haven't seen specks yet, but they could be caught at any time- no redfish either- the cold fish kill of two years ago really decimated speck and redfish populations...I usually don't fish for croakers but catch them as a by-catch with the 3 inch swim baits...
