Went out yesterday, fished low tide to incoming, about 9am-12:15pm. Only caught 2 2# catfish(1was flathead, my first). Used cut mullet, and various lures. Several big hits(busy casting artificials to set hook), think they were cats though. Any advice to better my chances for a striped bass? Any advice is appreciated! Fished around Ancarrows Landing.
Are Stripers in James River, and best way to fish for from bank?

If you have a boat or have access to one you could go troll for a Striper. But your best bet on catching one is down in Lynnhaven or Fort Monroe area.
