Hello Kingman,

The answer is yes, you can fish from the beach, and there is a fresh water pond you can fish from as well. You do need a Bay license to fish from the beach. If your into sharks teeth, take a good look around the beach. With all the rain we have had this spring, the cliffs are supposed to have given up alot of fossils and teeth. For more info on Calvert Cliffs State park check out the Maryland DNR website. Good luck to you and your friend. Let us know if its worth a trip down there.

I went there two weekends ago. It's 1.8 mile walk to the "beach" along an improved? trail which was very muddy. The beach is only 50yds or less long with cliffs at each end (posted no entry because of the cliffs falling). The water looked fairly shallow. I took my rod but decided it wasn't worth it with all the people (50+) looking for fossils.

But you never know until you try.
