the blues were caught on Romancoke pier last June on rattle trap the spot was caught on bloodworm

Better than my try at it. Think maybe this might be as good as it gets. There has to be a step we missed somewhere. :D

The link to the photo worked for me... amazing that four of the five blues seem to have very different body shapes. Was it one mixed school, or were the fish caught at lengthy intervals?

Those blues were caught on romancoke just before dark. It was just a nice school that were breaking right in front of the pier i caught more but they were smaller .

I was and still use a light action rod 7' footer with 6# test the blues were feeding on the surface . I start throwing a 1/4 oz rattletrap blk back chrome. I pick up some on chartreuse grubs 1/2 oz too.
