Got the reel this winter with 150yrds braid and close to 150yrds 17# Sufix Tri. Thinking of using it on a OC 12' 3-6 for now. Wondering if anyone uses the same set up

I use my 656 SCM reel with 15 BBG mono on my Breakaway Omega (10'6") or AFAF Big Beach (14') rod... It really smokes on the AFAW when I need MAX distance. The Omega is good for 1-4 oz weights. The AFAW can handle the heavier stuff..

Yeah I used the same rig. The 3-6 throws 5/6oz very well and the 656 is a dream to throw. I ended up changing the 656 for a Penn fathom 15. I lost a very small amount of distance but the drag and cranking power are far better. You will like the setup.
