Howdy Y'all,
I joined this forum almost exactly a year ago, during my family's annual beach trip, because I needed help improving my gear and my approach for surf fishing. I had always done pretty well in the past, but I knew I could do better. I haven't posted that much in the past year, but I have done a lot of reading, and the few threads I did start have resulted in extremely helpful advice.
This morning I introduced my new 9' Prevail to the salt for the very first time, armed with a new assortment of
River Rigs, at a spot on Sunset Beach, NC that was recommended by members of this forum. The rod is just what I was looking for, and I had a fantastic fishing day. The fishing action was very fast, and, in most cases, my bait did not languish on the bottom for more than about 30 seconds at a time before I got a hookup. I lost count of the whiting, and I also landed one little bluefish (my first one ever!)
My sincere thanks to everyone here for helping me to get squared away. I can't wait to get back out there tomorrow.
Best Regards,
BoonieMan
