Managed to get my limit on the Patapsco(Avalon) on Mepps spinners. Left em biting.
Was hoping to see some Browns that were part of the fall stocking. Not to be.

Cali it's been years since I fished Avalon. Is the pond still there or did you fish the river?

The pond Catman is stocked in the spring only caters to those under 16 I believe, and the blind or handicapped.

I fished the river.

I generally fish panther martins when using spinners. Casting upstream and retrieving just fast enough to keep the blade turning generally works best for me. If I'm using something bulkier like a rooster tail or joes fly style spinner, I have a lot of luck fishing cross current where the fish can see the profile of the lure. I let the current carry the lure and again reel just fast enough to keep the blade turning. It takes a lot longer to cover water that way because you pretty much have to let the lure swing just right but it is very effective when you get the perfect retrieve. A lot of people fish spinners too fast and too high in the water column, in my opinion.

amen. It's not even fair once you get the technique down.
