Wife and I did a "get-a-way" trip to Ocracoke last Tuesday - Friday. I actually had right much time to soak a bait. Saw 2 large drum caught Tuesday pm about dark. High falling. Wednesday a little breezy off shore with sand. Thursday was nice, onshore breeze, nice water, looked good. No runs for me. Heard of several drum caught Wed and Thur. A lot of cow nose rays were caught. I was lucky not to hook one! Fished a small rod with shrimp for a while and caught small blow toads and small rays. There has been the usual quality spring big drum caught at Ocracoke, and no reports on this site! What a shame. Best - glenn

Was down again last week, returned yesterday (monday) pups just about every day, no big drum fore me or my partner, but we too had our share of winged creatures. We usually had 5 to 7 rods out between us and it always seemed the rays came 2 at a time.
