If I double it, can it be used to snell #2 hooks?
I bought a bunch back when Walmart put them and other various fishing stuff on clearance at 25 cents a pop.
I have a couple types: Fluorescent Clear/Blue and Low Vis Green. Haven't figured out what to do with it. Got to thinking
about maybe using them to snell up some hooks. Only 220 yards per spool.

I don't see any reason that wouldn't work. I've gotten lazy in the past and bought pre snelled live bait hooks and they had doubled up line. I say why not give it a try.

If you're fishing around structure I wouldn't do it...would get knicked easily and you might lose a nice fish. I read that 15 lb mono should be light enough to let the hook move about but still be strong enough to manage a fish. Still I like to use 20 to 25 lb mono when Snelling hooks...less floppy and tangly...just get the cheap Zebco Omniflex mono at Wally World.
