Power Pro will be donating over 2000 yards of line. Blackfin Rods and All American Rollers have agreed to sponsor the Blacktip Challenge. Blackfin Rods will be building a rod for each prize category (Largest Shark, Largest Blacktip, and Highest Average) and will using All American Rollers. Anyfish Anywhere and the Florida Surf Casters Club have agreed to sponsor the Blacktip Challenge. Anyfish Anywhere will be donating a 11ft AFAW surf rod and an AFAW lure bag. These two prizes will be raffled off at the awards ceremony. The Florida Surf Casters Club will be donating cash.

Tournament Boundaries: The tournament boundaries are between Vero Beach and Ft. Lauderdale.


Anglers Meeting: The anglers meeting will be held on February 6th, 2009 at Juno Pier. The anglers meeting will be from 8:30-10:00pm. Anglers do not have to stay the whole time. They will only have to pick up their tournament supplies and sign their waiver. After completing these tasks, an angler can leave. All anglers fishing the tournament must show up to the anglers meeting. You can pay your entry fee at the anglers meeting if you choose. If we do not have payment from any angler after 10:00pm on February 6th, they will not be able to fish the tournament until we receive payment.


Fishing Dates: The official time for “lines in” will be at 12:01am on February 7th, 2009. The official time for lines out is 11:59pm on February 13th. All fish caught after this time will not qualify. If a fish is hooked prior to 11:59pm, it will qualify if the angler lands it.


Prize Categories:
(1) Largest Shark (any species)
(2) Largest Blacktip
(3) Most qualifying sharks caught and released
(4) Any shark recaptured with a tournament-issued tag affixed
(5) Any shark recaptured with any research tag affixed retrieved and new one placed
(6) Any competing angler who places all supplied tags in qualifying sharks
(7) Female Angler Division: Largest Shark (any species)
(8) Junior Angler Division (under 18): Largest Shark (any species)
