I have been seeing a lot of mullets on the surf pretty close (within 40 feet) and I would like to catch them on my surf rod. I don't have a cast net so I'm pretty much stuck with my rod. Mullets seems to concentrate on the surface and I assume them to be top water feeders.
How should I use sabiki rigs? I have no experience with them and was wondering how/if I should bait them, and what should I expect to catch with them.
They are so small it looks like I would catch tiny fish
Ok, I'm sure some of you jig for Spanish with tree rigs. It's about time for the Spanish to start running good again in September, and I'll be at the beach after them.
I always tie my own rigs but I can't find the coffee stirrer straws anywhere (I like straws over the tubes 110%). Does...
Not sure what it's called, but I want to have a live finger mullet or something more or less straight down/tossed out a few yards to be out of the way while I jig for Spanish off of a pier this coming September. Mainly to target larger Spanish, maybe a blue or whatever swims by.
