Down on Dauphin Island you can walk Pelican Spit and cast plugs or grubs for trout and reds. Or make the drive down to Gulf Shores and fish the pier for king mackerel, tarpon, bull reds, jacks, spanish. You can catch your bait easily at the pier, lys, sardines, threadfins, hardtails, on small sabikis, or just pick up a box of frozen cigar minnows for snobble baits. The surf at Ft.Morgan will have bull reds, jack crevalle, and sharks on cut or live bait, croakers pinfish etc.
panhandler, any advice for northerner coming down to gulf shores in June. I love to fish for anything. I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Tim
A best bet for June in Gulf Shores would probably be livebaiting spanish and king mackerel on Gulf State Pier.
