Couple days in Hatteras

Got to spend a couple days surf fishing in the angler's club tournament after the blow. Lots of Sea Mullets, up to 17 inchs. Some of them were monsters. No Blue fish to speak of, only a couple little guys. Fair mix of pan fish with a few nice spot in the group. Pretty good puppy fishing in the tournament, caught a fat 26 incher. Couple of the teams got into the pups good Thursday am session. We ended up third overall out of 120 teams, not bad I guess. The Cape Hatteras Angler's Club puts on a wonderful tournament, First class all the way.

That is great. The team I was on finshed below 50th.
We just got some bad stations.
Plus it is hard to be good at something you only do about a dozen times a year.
Wish I had more time/$.$$ to put into it, but I do love it when I have the chance!

Ahhhh the Draw. Sometimes ya just get bad stations, wrong tides or wrong time of day. We lucked out with a station on the north beach Thur am That held some fish. Fished a beautiful spot north of the Point Friday pm, looked like it should have been a 200 point spot. Not, could only muster 34 points with hard fishing.
