    Fishing Reel

Hello!! My husband is a fisherman and I want to give him a new fishing reel for his Birthday. I was advised a list of models. Help me choose.

Please let us know what type of fish he is fishing for. This will help determine the size of the reel. Thanks for posting.

Most of the time, it's bass or a dream, and he also likes to go fishing for salmon.

My first impression of this post is CLICKBAIT

That being said I will try to lend a response if in fact it is a serious and heart filled post.

Although I have never fished fro salmon except at a grocery store. For Bass I would suggest either the Penn Clash 2500 or 3000 or the Shimano CI4 in the same series as noted for the Penn Clash. Both reels are the upper end of the price spectrum, ( the same being said for the entire list) and IMHO are excellent choices.

Salmon a Penn Battle 5000 would serve nicely , Bass same Penn but in the 3000 , have a fondness for the Penn Battle's

I have fished for Salmon and Bass just not in the same State

What kind of fishing does he prefer ? Freshwater or Saltwater ?? Next, does he fish from a pier or from a boat ??? If he goes after rockfish, ask those questions of the folks at “Anglers” on Rte 50 headed toward the Bay Bridge. Cabela’s has good advisors by phone.
When in doubt, get a gift card from Cabela’s or BassPro. Good luck.

Shimano Stradic series are excellent reels.
