    Catching shimp

I was thinking of heading to wilmington nc in a few weeks to try to get some shrimp. Is it pointless to try this early in the year and are there any good spots around the wilmington area to catch shrimp?

As cold as the water is right now, I don't think you'll catch anything. I am not sure of the exact temps that shrimp find favorable, but I think high 50's is the minimum.

right now i think the temp is around 54, give it another month and i think it'll be in the lower to mid 60's

can't wait to get some fish for the grill and crabs and shrimp for the steamer.

    Thanks for the info.

Has anyone done any shrimping with cast nets like the do in SC. I don't think it would be any diff. in NC water.
