Hi,

I have an opportunity to pick up a Red Killer II rod and wondered if anyone here has any experience with them? Are they fit for light surf as well as inshore?

Thanks,
George

I have one of their Trout Killer II rods (a bit lighter) and have been pleased with it. Caught several whitings in the surf with it no problem and it casts well froma kayak, so I would guess that the RK II would be a good as well. It is an imported rod, not made in Texas, but seems to be well built - maybe to Texas Tackle Factory specs? They did discontinue making them for some reason, so be sure you are getting a good deal.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually ended up passing on it for the reason you mention, it wasn't a good enough deal for a disco'd product, though it looked like a good rod.
