Headed to the OBX (Camp Hatteras in Waves) this weekend for a well deserved vacation. Bringing both surf and pier gear (which hasn't seen action for a while now). Although $10 a day is a bit steep if fishing for only a few hours, the Nags Head peir is within walking distance of the camp site and looks like a nice setting. However, I do enjoy fising in the surf. Where will I have better luck? Looks like favorable weather this weekend with only a slight change of a passing storm.

Thanks! :fishing::beer:

I've read about 2 local piers, I presume its the Rodanthe Pier. Don't need a long walk, just lots of quality time catching fish!:)

You could fish the surf early in the morning, move onto the pier later, (pass is good all day) fish until lunch, go eat, relax, come back to pier, fish until dusk, move back to the surf. Good luck.

Just need to find some time in that hectic schedule to throw down a few frosty cold adult beverages.

Thank you, I added the "relax" part in case the "have lunch" didn't catch.

Where can I get a tide schedule for the coming week? I prefer to fish on the tide changes.

Locally, the Beach Book prints tide charts. The nearest pier to milepost 9 is Nags Head Pier. Another good site for tidal information is tidesandcurrents run by the NOAA.

I'll be down also, staying at the koa in Rodanthe. Another tide chart site
just for info is www.low-tide.com/tide/index.html
As usual I will tie/fly a white rag on one of my poles for anyone to stop by
and say hello. Will be fishing somewhere at a turnoff / ramp between
Oregon Inlet and Hatteras.

HAPPY FISHING TO ALL
