Or they're still here.

Still here is the correct answer. They render the site virtually inacccesable at times. Though,
And it probably sounds strange, I've noticed something. I've been in the Broomfield/Denver area since Sunday training for Work and the ads have lessened substantially since I got here..... I couldn't make it more than 2 minutes at home in Pennsylvania, and here I can browse and comment for an hour without seeing any ads. Very strange, maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Yep I can’t browse for 10 seconds without a [email protected]€ing pop up

Thanks for reporting this @SmoothLures. Next time it happens, can you please copy the ad URL (either right click and hit 'copy link' or click on the address bar, select all and copy). We would need the URL of the ad in order to send it to our ad team to be investigated/blocked.

And @brob757, you're right - geographical location often plays a role as to how these ads are targeted so providing your location when reporting these ads can also be helpful.

Please let us know if you come across any more of these redirects and we will send them in to be blocked.

Cheers,

Erik

Thanks for the links @1BadF350 (and sorry to hear that you've been getting so many of them). I'll send those to our ad team to be blocked. And just to clarify, we do not generate any revenue from pop ups/redirects. They actually work against us as they lead people AWAY from the site, so no, there is no profit from them. This kind of problem has been reported on a number of sites across the internet, not just our forums. We do screen the site's ad content for malware/redirects, but sometimes things do manage to slip through the cracks - it's not a perfect system, but again, we do not profit from those types of ads. They're just as frustrating for us as they are for you.

@dialout - thanks for trying to get the full link. If it comes back again and you're able to grab the full URL, just send it our way and we will send it in.

Cheers,

Erik
