Hey Y'all, I have lived in Eastern Carolina for 2 years now and FINALLY gonna head over to Ft Macon to do some fishing Saturday Evening and maybe Sunday morning. If anyone has an insight, suggestions, or wants to stop on by and say hello please feel free. I'm going to take some of my big gear and spike it as well as some of my light gear as well and see what happens. Was thinking of live shrimp, fresh shrimp, and some finger mullet as my bait choices.
Take some small hooks to catch pinfish near the rocks. Fresh cut bait. Not sure how the shoal looks out there now but there is definitely fish always around that area.
Fished down by the CG station for about 4 hours yesterday. Dolphins and pinfish were think. One solid hit on an entire piece of shrimp. Rod bent in half but all I had on was a dropper rig with small pan fish hooks. Lost every piece of lead I owned too on a bunch of snags. Man about 100 yards from me was catching sharks and a dogfish on cut mullet. All atleast I got out to fish!
