Maryland/ Delaware

Whether you fish the piers of the Chesapeake Bay or surf spots like Assateague and Chincoteague, Maryland is loaded with angling opportunities.

Virginia

Virginia anglers are blessed with waters that hold stripers, red and black drum, and cobia. Miles of fishable beaches and plenty of piers make the mouth of the Chesapeake the place where northern and southern fish meet.

  1. Surf report : dam Neck beach-23 may

    Virginia
Hit the surf for the last few hours of high tide from 730pm till about 1045 pm and had some decent results. Ended up with 1 sting ray, 2 small croaker and 2 whiting, with one being a solid 12” and thick. Got excited when I heard my drag started screaming but unfortunately it was just the ray...
  2. Ocracoke opening for visitors - fishing report

    North Carolina
Heading down the week of the 23rd for the first time. Was supposed to go last fall, but Dorian had a different plan. Any fishing reports? Would fishing be similar to what's' in the Dare county thread? Advice on fishing spots, ocean or sound? No 4 wheel drive, so have to hoof it. Thanks!

    Maryland/ Delaware
Good Evening Folks, it's the weekend! Yea!!! Well, I went out early this morning and fished for 4 hours and caught so many blue catfish, that I put the majority of them back into the water. Also, caught some really nice-sized white perch and lots of small spot. I hope that where ever you fish...
  4. Sand fleas

Never used them before (new to saltwater/surf fishing), but I also read that they leave large welts on the legs. If used for fishing, will they leave welts on...
  5. Hook size and type for surf fishing

    Open Forum
Planning on doing some surf fishing this September in the Outer Banks. Will be my first time surf fishing and I'm not really sure on what sizes and types of hooks I should be using. I plan to just soak some bait (cut mullet, FB's, shrimp, sandfleas, etc.) in the surf on some double bottom rigs...
