So I've had these sitting in my office for over a dozen years - and I know I'm never going to use them and would like to get them to someone who might have a need & let them complete their purpose in being. Yeah, I know, I can go on Ebay or Craig's list - and I might do that sometime... but even if I did I have no idea how old they are or their value. I was hoping you might help me in that regard and it appears you have or had used both of these reel in your fishing past. Both work great, as far as I can tell- I can adjust the tension and throw the 'on-off' switch to allow the reel to spin or catch, etc. Both 'sound' really good when I'm putting tension on the line and reeling.. so.. can you help me or suggest where i might find that help? As a disabled/retired US Marine Veteran - I'm limited on 'getting' out somewhat these days... so the internet seems my best resource. Any help you can provide is much appreciated!

Hi Charlie2 - I was doing a GOOGLE search to try and find something out about a couple of reels that was in my grandfather's fishing items after he passed. Two of reels were passed on to me (I used to fish with my grandpa 40 years ago - but really haven't fished in two decades now). Anyway - my search question was regarding one of the two reels, a PENN PEERLESS No. 9 (on the reel stand it is stamped 30N-9). The other is a PENN PEER 209 (with a 30-66 stamped on the reel stand).
I have no idea how old these are - they were both in 'socks' (separate ones) and the appear to work 100% fine - both still have line on them - the #9 has a grey filament-type line and the #209 has a kind I don't remember seeing before - actually looks like a fishing-line version of string (whitish) - thicker than the other line. Both could use some minor cleaning in the chrome areas - probably from salt-water.
(too long - will post more)
